A well-known Devon solicitor is one of the guest speakers at a special forum looking at domestic violence and sexual abuse.

David Kendall will be talking to delegates at the Safeguarding Adults Forum on Thursday January 31.

He is a solicitor and partner with local firm Wollen Michelmore and specialises in cases concerning children and the family as a member of their award-winning family team.
David has practised law for over 30 years and is also a member of the Law Society’s specialist Children’s Panel and Family Law Panel.

He joined Wollen Michelmore in 2011 after a successful career with another city firm where he started as a trainee Legal Executive.

He regularly appears in the Family Courts where he represents the interests of family members, including parents, grandparents and children.

The keynote speaker at the forum will be Professor Marianne Hester, chair in Gender, Violence and International Policy in the Centre for Gender and
Violence Research for Policy Studies at the University of Bristol.

Other guest speakers will be Fee Scott (Devon Rape Crisis), Louise Knight (Nurse Practitioner at the Iris Project) and Sharon Minty (Devon and Cornwall Independent Sexual Violence Advocate).

The forum will be held at the TREC building at Torbay Hospital’s Horizon Centre in Torquay from 9am to 1pm.
