Job Description

National award winning private client team at Devon based practice, Wollen Michelmore LLP, have two opportunities. The positions are in our Torquay office and our Dartmouth office. We are looking for an experienced solicitor or Filex (4/5 years PQE) to manage a varied case load including estate administration, estate and tax planning and Will and LPA drafting.  The candidate needs to demonstrate an enthusiasm for the work and an ability to manage our client’s expectations and to win their loyalty across the whole firm.  You will be self-motivated and should also have energy and ambition to progress within the private client department and within the firm.

To this end the successful candidate would also be expected to actively engage in the marketing and practice development work of the private client team.  STEP membership is desirable but not essential.

Wollen Michelmore LLP have a vacancy for a competent and able Legal Secretary to provide support for our busy Dispute Resolution department at our Torquay and Newton Abbot offices. Applicants should have recent secretarial experience and excellent I.T. skills, ideally working with digital dictation and case management systems. The role is part-time, 21.75 hours per week, 9am – 5.15pm. Working days are Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Marketing Co-ordinator

Job Description

We are looking for a Marketing Co-ordinator to join our team at Wollen Michelmore and co-ordinate the marketing function. We have 6 offices across Devon – Torquay, Newton Abbot, Dartmouth, Exeter and two in Barnstaple. The role will be based in Torquay, but will involve travel to the other offices.


This is a varied and challenging role and you’ll be an expert in multitasking and working to a clearly defined marketing strategy.


Duties will include implementing the firm’s marketing plan, writing advertorial content for publications, PR, managing all of our online/digital marketing channels and website, liaising with 3rd parties for media bookings and co-ordinating and attending events.


With previous experience in a similar role, you need to be passionate about engaging with people through social media, enjoy content creation and be outgoing and passionate about building customer relationships. Writing skills are a very important part of the role as you need to be able to write creative and interesting copy for both our web site and press releases.This is a stand-alone role and as such you will need to be very self-motivated, confident, well organised, work well under pressure and have excellent communication skills. Previous experience gained within the legal / professional service sector would be an advantage.


Skills, knowledge and experience required


• Previous experience in a similar role
• Passionate about all forms of digital marketing with an eye on new trends
• Experience in event planning
• Experience of working within an office environment in an admin based role
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Some experience of marketing design would be useful but not essential

We would like you to have excellent customer care skills, a pleasant telephone manner and be computer literate. The role will involve answering the telephone, forwarding calls, dealing with queries, welcoming clients, taking payments, making appointments. The role will also involve providing secretarial support so previous experience would be a distinct advantage, ideally in private client or property.
